picture shows the modular nature of the feed block. The
furthest right module makes the innermost layer and combines two more
layers on either side. Each additional feed block adds two layers to
the outside. The extruders attach on either side
alternately.
You can see the access to the control pins best in the center feed block. These pins let you block off layers (so you don't have to take the system apart just because you want to run fewer layers. The pins let you match stream velocity (for the widest processing range) and work with significantly mismatched viscosity materials and still make uniform layers. |
