BOOTH #5121 CONSTRUCTION
SOMETIMES FUNNY. ALWAYS INTERESTING.
TUESDAY, DAY 2
We arrive at the North building. Machinery surrounds the booth.
WEDNESDAY, DAY 3
The riggers, carpenters, plumbers and electricians all show up at once at 8 AM! The riggers moved the equipment into position
while the carpenters waited patiently. They can be seen here erecting the Randcastle sign. The plumbers installed water, drain
and compressed air. They were in and out in no time. The electricians worked all day and said they would come back
tomorrow.
THURSDAY, DAY 4
Electricians work all day. They get power to the coextrusion blown film line and the coextrusion sheet line around lunchtime.
These lines are tested and we're ready for more. Great news! The electricians have made teh connections to the rest of the
machinery. So, were hooked up and figure we're ready to run.
Bad news! The head electrical man says that he can't turn the power on until, hopefully, Friday afternoon. Politely, we ask,
"Why?" Because the electricians used a ceiling drop and they cannot turn it on until everyone on that buss is connected. We
wait with somewhat less patience than the carpenters.
FRIDAY, DAY 5
Good news! They turned the power on early today. Testing completed on the laminating line, the Micro-pelletizing line, the
50:1 L/D compounder, the tubing line and the fiber line. We're so busy, we forget to take pictures!
SATURDAY, DAY 6
Curtains go up around the machinery. Chairs and brochures go out. The booth gets cleaned.

SUNDAY, DAY 7
A day of rest. Well almost. We made sure the cast film line we had in the High Technolobgy booth was okay. We took the protective plastic off the carpet.
MONDAY, FIRST DAY OF SHOW, 6:15 A.M.
John takes our picture as we catch the first bus over to McCormick while Joe is flying in. David gets the lead retrieval system
hooked up to the computer.
Eight lines and 10 extruders running by 9AM. I love it when a plan comes
together.
