Designed for the medical industry, this
pelletizer has stainless steel component and a dual drive. The first
drive is for the nip rolls and the second drive is for the
cutter.
Because this particular
pelletizer was designed to make micro-pellets from delicate strands that
contained drugs, it has several important design
features:
- Both nips covered in FDA approved
materials. Because both rolls were soft, less pressure was exerted
on the strands.
- The rotor (cutter) was made with an
unusual number of cutting teeth to increase the output.
- The nips were pneumatically loaded to
dial in the minimum pressure required to pull the strands.
- Stainless steel
construction.
- Four cutting surfaces on the fixed
knife to increase longevity.
